LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted Fontbonne University and Lehman College for two out-of-conference matches to wrap up their 2018 home schedule.

In match one against the Fontbonne Griffins, Cairn struggled to get on track early on, dropping the first set by a score of 11-25 thanks to an early 7-1 run that the Highlanders could not rally back from. The Griffins opened the second set with a 4-0 run, but the Highlanders battled back answering with three points of their own thanks to two thunderous kills from
Micah Godshall. Midway through the set, Fontbonne led again 20-13, but the Highlanders chipped away at the deficit thanks to excellent defense, and stellar hitting from Godshall and
Ben Norton. With the score sitting at 21-24, the Highlanders were unable to complete the comeback, dropping the second set 21-25. Cairn dropped the third set as well, 15-25, despite a game-leading 12 kills from
Micah Godshall, 7 from
Ben Norton, and 14 digs from
Juston Wolgemuth.

The Highlanders bounced back against Lehman, handily winning the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-19. After a third set loss, the Highlanders rallied behind seniors
Micah Godshall and
Joffrey Rosa, as well as a huge performance from freshman middle Anton Deleon. With the score at 20-18, Deleon came through with two huge kills, Godshall tallied his 24
th of the day, and Rosa capped the match off by slamming home a
Ryan Ludvik set to give Cairn a 25-21 win. Rosa killed 12 of his 15 chances on the day for an astonishing 73% hitting percentage, Godshall led everyone with 24 kills, while Deleon and Norton each finished with 8 kills as well.
Ryan Ludvik directed the Highlanders all around the court, finishing with a career-high 50 assists and leading the team with 11 digs as well.

Cairn will conclude their season on Monday at Kean University.
