STATEN ISLAND, NY- After a tough matchup with Brooklyn College Friday night, the Highlanders bounced back in a major way Saturday afternoon with wins over Lehman College and the College of Staten Island.

In the Highlanders first match against Lehman College, Cairn dominated from start to finish. Cairn mounted a 5-1 run in the beginning as
Micah Godshall,
Ben Norton, and Scott Bassill each got on track quickly with an early kill. After two straight kills from setter
Ryan Ludvik, the Highlanders led 15-7, and hung onto their commanding lead to defeat Lehman 25-20 in the first set. Lehman bounced back to take the lead early in the second set, but an 8-3 run from Cairn pushed the Highlanders to another imposing lead. Two kills from Anton Deleon put the cap on the Highlanders second set win, 25-21. The third set was played evenly as both teams traded points until the score stood at 14 apiece. Three service aces and a kill from Godshall, as well as a kill from Bassill vaulted the Highlanders to a 6 point run, and a 25-19 win in the third set. Godshall tallied 20 kills and 5 service aces, while
Ben Norton and
Joffrey Rosa notched 7 and 5 apiece, and
Ryan Ludvik finished with 32 assists.

The Highlanders kept up their strong play against the host Dolphins in the day's final match. Cairn completed another three set victory with little to no drama. The Highlanders used a balanced attack as middles
Joffrey Rosa and Anton Deleon notched 6 and 4 kills, and outside hitters
Ben Norton, Collin Benjamin, and
Caleb Myers finished with 4, 4, and 3 kills to lead Cairn. Leading and organizing the Highlanders offense was setter
Jon Simpson who dished out 18 assists on the night.

The Highlanders will host Neumann University Monday night at 7:00 PM in a CVC match.
