RADNOR, PA- After a competitive first half, a hot-shooting second half from the Cabrini Cavaliers led to the Highlanders defeat.
Â
With multiple key pieces already out with injury, and two further starters limited by injuries of their own the Highlanders were facing a tough task tonight against the Cabrini Cavaliers. The Highlanders battled hard in the first half, limiting the Cavaliers to a mere 30.8% shooting from beyond the arc, and leaning on Malachi Hall (10 points) and a flurry of
Jordan Koczman midrange jumpers (12 points) to stay close the entire opening period. When Deryl Bagwell drained a three to end the first half, this momentum opened the proverbial floodgates as the Cavaliers shot 71.4% from the field and 58.3% from three to stretch their lead. The Highlanders did their very best to stay in it, making nearly half their shot attempts, they simply were not able to keep up with the torrid pace set by Cabrini.
Â
Jordan Koczman had an excellent game with 16 points and 5 rebounds on 8-11 shooting, while Malachi Hall tallied 16 points and 6 rebounds of his own.
Â
The Highlanders will take on the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University this Saturday at 3:00 PM.
