GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA- After a near win against CSAC powerhouse Gwynedd Mercy two weeks ago, the Highlanders went into today's matchup seeking to play the role of giant-killer. Despite a furious second half comeback and career day from
Seth Brunner, the Highlanders were unable to unseat Gwynedd Mercy from atop the CSAC standings, falling by a final score of 67-81.
Â
Both teams started off rather slowly, as the score stood knotted at 6-6 about seven minutes into the game. As they are wont to do due to their fast-paced offense, the Griffins uncorked a 17-3 run over the next five minutes to take control over the day's proceedings.
Jordan Koczman finished a fast break layup as the buzzer sounded to give the Highlanders a bit of momentum heading into the second half. The Highlanders picked up their play in the second half, led largely by
Seth Brunner, who canned 3 three pointers on his way to 10 points, and Koczman, who also tallied 10 second half points. Brunner shot a stellar 5-7 from beyond the arc to tally a career-high 18 points, while Koczman finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks in only 21 minutes of play. The Highlanders leader Malachi Hall played the role of facilitator in today's contest, finishing with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Highlanders will seek another win Wednesday night when they welcome Centenary University to the Mason Activity Center. Tipoff is set for 8:00 PM.
