Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

The Streak Stretches On: Men's Soccer Wins 4th Straight

MORRISTOWN, NJ- Cairn men's soccer stayed hot, dispatching the Eagles of the College of Saint Elizabeth by a score of 8-1 and tallying their fourth straight victory.

The Highlanders wasted no time, blitzing the Eagles defense and netting the first goal of the night in the 3rd minute, by way of Brandon Hasko finishing off a deflection from the goalie. Brendan Keller, last week's CSAC Offensive Player of the Week, would not be left out as the sophomore added to the Highlanders scoresheet with an unassisted effort in the 26th. The Highlanders overwhelmed the Eagles' defense the entire first half, and when midfielder Jared Dodson deposited a free kick into the back of the net the Highlanders had officially taken control of this contest.

Cairn inundated the College of Saint Elizabeth's keeper with 22 shots in the first half, forcing the freshman into making an impressive 9 saves. On the other end, Colin Baker, saw very little action with only 2 shots coming his way and none on frame.

The Eagles brought the pressure in the second half when Tyron Odom scored to bringing the game much closer to 3-1, however the Highlanders, and more specifically Isaac Morrison, would bounce back in a major way over the rest of the half. Coach Luke Gibson brought on Morrison in the 60th minute and the freshman would not squander his next half hour. An imposing 6'2 presence in the middle of the pitch, Morrison would make his mark a mere 5 minutes into his shift when midfielder John Michael Redding found him with a cross and he finished with authority for his first goal of the season. After two more Highlander goals by Timothy Smith and Reagan Lam, each also tallying their first of the season with unassisted efforts, Morrison would arrive once again in the middle rising above and finishing a header for his second of the night. The rout was officially on, and Morrison would complete his hat trick in the 86th minute off of, you guessed it, another cross.

The Highlanders improved to 5-3 after the 8-1 victory, and have tallied 16 goals for to only 3 against over their current four game winning streak. Cairn will open conference play against when they host the Rosemont Ravens this Saturday at 1 PM.
