SCRANTON, PA- The Highlanders' women's soccer team lost a tough matchup to the Pacers of Marywood University this afternoon in their first conference matchup.
After a big win earlier this week against the Patriots of Valley Forge the Highlanders faltered against the stiffer competition brought by their first conference opponent of the young season.
Cairn struggled against Marywood as Coach
Kristina O'Connell is still attempting to introduce her system to her young team. The Highlanders' goalkeepers gave their absolute best effort as
Mackenzie Paugh had 9 saves in only 32 minutes of action and
Haley Tinney also chipped in with 10 saves on her own.
For the Pacers' Julie Youngman had a hat-trick and an assist to lead their offensive attack.
Cairn will be back in action Monday at 6 PM as they travel to Brooklyn to square off against Brooklyn College.
