ROSEMONT, PA- The Highlanders concluded their excellent week with their second win, a 2-0 victory over Rosemont College.

Cairn took on conference opponent Rosemont College and illustrated their resilient spirit by standing strong against the Ravens fierce offensive attack and keeping a clean sheet for the match. Cairn struck first in the 25th minute when Courtney Novak tallied her third goal of the week and 8th of the season. Novak has been outstanding for the Highlanders this season showing great ability to beat her defender one-on-one and find the back of the net from long distance. Novak initiated much of the offense for the Highlanders in the first half, and her goal would eventually prove to be her second game winning goal of the season. Sara Hayduchok sealed the contest for the Highlanders with her 8th goal of the season as well in the 89th minute. Hayduchok, a transfer student, has been a great asset to Cairn as well with her outstanding motor and nose for goal.

While Novak and Hayduchok netted the Highlanders goals, Cairn can place a large portion of the win squarely on keeper Mackenzie Paugh's shoulders. Paugh, a senior, has been great in goal all year and today was no exception. The versatile, athletic goalkeeper saw 28 shots from Rosemont and made an incredible 13 saves to keep the potent Ravens attack off the board.  

Cairn is now 4-8 on the season and will look to make a run at the CSAC playoffs over their next 6 games. They next play in New York against The City College of New York on 10/9 at 5:00 PM.
