Scranton, PA - The Marywood Pacers connected for four goals in each half to down the Highlanders 8-1.
Hannah Morrison scored for Cairn in the 68th minute off a free kick but it wasn't enough as the Pacers picked up their first of the season.
Marywood outshot the Highlanders 38-7 on the evening, with
Hannah Barker picking up 11 saves in the contest.

In the early going it looked as if Marywood was going to have the run of play. A shot by the Pacers in the second minute was blocked and Marywood was caught offsides twice in the opening minutes but they could not find their first tally until the 18th minute. With their first shot on frame the Pacers found the back of the net, Aly Barlok found Jacki Vonltter on the right side of the box and sent a ball in the net on the left-side.

Prior to Marywood's first goal, the Highlanders had generated a few chances of their own.
Hannah Morrison sent a shot high in the sixth minute and
Payton Emerick had a chance saved in the 14th minute.

Marywood found three more goals before the break in the 27th, 39th, and 41st minutes to build a 4-0 lead heading into the intermission. Cairn's only other chance of the first-half came in the 28th minute when Emerick sent a shot wide of her intended target.

After the break, the Pacers found the goal just ten minutes into the second-half. A long through ball found Emily Kotcho in stride, Kotcho left it off for Vonltter, who converted from short-range for her second tally of the game.

Marywood continued the pressure with five shots in a four-minute span in the 59th to 63rd minutes. Two of the five shots found the post and a header went high.

After the flurry of activity the Pacer lead still stood at 5-0. Cairn closed the gap in the 68th minute.
Hannah Morrison took a direct kick and buried it in the top of the frame from 35 yards out to give the Highlanders their lone goal of the contest.

The Highlanders would have one more chance, but
Meghan Wilson's shot in the 73rd minute was saved.

The Pacers found three more goals in the final ten minutes and picked up the victory by an 8-1 final.

Hannah Morrison picked up the only points for the Highlanders with her goal. Tonight's game also marked the first time since Sept. 21, 2015 when
Meghan Wilson appeared in a game and was held scoreless.

The loss drops the Highlanders to 2-3-0 on the season and they begin CSAC play 0-1-0. Cairn will next take the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 12:00 p.m. at Centenary College in a CSAC match-up.
