Bryn Mawr, PA – Cairn University women's soccer traveled to Bryn Mawr College to take on the Owls on Monday afternoon where they dropped a 2-0 contest to the Owls. Bryn Mawr scored one goal in each half in the win and took 18 shots.
With 12 shots on goal by the Owls,
Mackenzie Paugh was not without action during the game and was forced to make 10 saves. The Owls were led by Veronica Roux with four shots, three on goal, and one that found the back of the net.
The Highlanders took just two shots in the game, neither of which were enough to test the Owls.
Laurisa Wager and
Meghan Wilson had one shot each.
Despite the difference in shot total, Cairn was able to limit the Owls chances to outside of the box primarily. The Owls first goal was scored on a free kick from outside the box that was headed into the far post. The second came from a long cross that Paugh was unable to fully collect and found the foot of an Owl.
With the loss, Cairn dropped to 2-5 overall on the season, while Bryn Mawr improved to 1-5 on the year. The Highlanders will return to the field this week when they host Centenary College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
