In the second game of the doubleheader, the Mighty Macs looked to be in control of the game again as they scored two runs early on in the top of the first inning. However, Cairn responded and scored two runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning.
Caleb Moore reached first base on a ball hit to the third baseman that wasn't thrown over to first in time.
Caleb Lang was the next batter up and smashed a triple back to the fence to score Moore.
John Burlaga then came up to bat and struck out swinging but the third strike went past the catcher forcing a throw to first base to get him out.
With Lang on third base, he seized the opportunity on the throw from the catcher to the first baseman to scamper home and tie the game up at 2-2. Lang went 1-2 in the second game with one RBI, a run scored, and one hit-by-pitch.
Unfortunately, Immaculata added one more in the top of the second inning and Cairn failed to score for the remainder of the game. The Mighty Macs also added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning and went on to win 4-2.
Joey Nieves-Markee led the Highlanders in hits in the second game, going 2-3 with one double. Rick DiDomenico went 2-4 with two RBI to lead the Mighty Macs from the plate.
Cairn will next play tomorrow when they travel to Immaculata to make up the game that was rained out on Friday afternoon.
