Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Home CSAC Game Goes To Rosemont 72-53

Langhorne, PA – The Highlanders lost by the same margin for the second time this season to Rosemont College in a home game on Wednesday evening. Previously, the Cairn men lost by a score of 67-48 in Rosemont, Pa.

Dom Scafidi led the Ravens in scoring and started out the night early on by scoring seven of the team's first 10 points in the game. Scafidi continued his double-double night and finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds.

The Ravens opened up a 16-7 lead by the 11:14 mark in the first half and didn't let the Highlanders have any room on offense. Rosemont later built a 36-18 lead due to Marcus Thomas' 4-6 shooting from the floor. However, the Highlanders rebounded from that deficit to cut it in half before the teams entered their locker rooms for halftime.

Darnell Clowney and Omar Askia helped the team finish out the first 20 minutes on a 9-1 run. Clowney finished with 14 points in the game to lead the team along with Reuben Lacy, also with 14 in the game. Clowney had 12 of his 14 points in the first half.

Rosemont kept their lead in the double digits throughout the second half – the Highlanders just couldn't find an answer for Scafidi down low. In the game, Scafidi was 12-18 from the floor for 66%. Lacy picked up where Clowney left off in the second half and scored 11 of his 14 points. Seil Park had a similar game to last night against Valley Forge and went 3-3 with five rebounds.

Ultimately the Ravens finished off the Highlanders 72-53 and improved their overall record to 12-11 this season and 10-6 in the CSAC. Cairn dropped to 2-20 overall and 2-13 in the conference with the loss. The Highlanders will next host Cabrini College this Saturday, Feb. 14, for senior day at 3 p.m.
