Radnor, PA – Cairn women's soccer fell to the Cavaliers of Cabrini College, 6-2, in a CSAC matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders scored one goal in each half, while the Cavaliers scored four in the second half to get past Cairn.
 
With the loss, Cairn fell to 5-9 overall and 3-5 in the conference. Cabrini improved to 6-5-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the CSAC with the win.
 
Cabrini opened the scoring in the 5^th minute of the game after Dana Peterson fed a pass to Meghan Martin that led to a breakaway and a goal. Cairn responded with the next goal of the game but it didn't come until the 31^st minute of the first half.
 
Hannah Morrison (Fayetteville, NC/Village Christian) netted her third goal of the season with a long shot that went over the keeper's head and out of her reach. Meghan Wilson (New Hope, PA/New Hope-Solebury) added Cairn's second goal of the game in the 87^th minute, which was assisted by Morrison. The goal was Wilson's 15^th of the season.
 
Unfortunately, Cabrini had too many chances for the Highlanders to contend with throughout the game. The Cavaliers took 27 shots with 17 of them on goal. Cabrini also took 14 corner kicks and kept the pressure on Cairn throughout the game.
 
Martin and Brittany Woodruff each had two goals in the game to lead the Cavaliers. Mackenzie Paugh (Galloway, NJ/Absegami ) made 11 saves for the Highlanders, while Alivia Dietsch made three saves for the Cavaliers.
 
The Highlanders will next host Cedar Crest College on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 3:30 p.m.
