Women's Soccer Thrashes Valley Forge Christian, 8-0

Box Score Langhorne, PA - Cairn University's women's soccer team bounced back from back-to-back losses with a resounding 8-0 win over NCAA East Region opponent Valley Forge Christian.

It didn't take long for the Lady Highlanders to get going. Just halfway through the opening stanza, Cairn had already jumped out to a 4-0 lead with goals from Amara Mills, Laurisa Wager, Alyssa Leister, and Hannah Morrison. Morrison's goal was her first collegiate goal.

That's the way things would stand until the halftime break.

The offensive onslaught continued in the second stanza, as senior Amara Mills completed a hat-trick, scoring two goals right out of the gate. Mills' two second half goals pushed the lead to 6-0.

Fellow senior Kathleen Meacham got involved in the scoring to help Cairn to a 7-0 lead, before freshman Morrison tallied her 2nd goal of the game, closing out the scoring at 8-0.

Cairn is now 12-0 all-time against the Patriots of Valley Forge Christian College.

On the season, the Crimson are 4-8-2. With their fourth win of the season, the Highlanders have matched their win total from a season ago, with at least six games still to be played in the 2013 campaign.

On Wednesday, Cairn will have its work cut out for them when they host CSAC powerhouse Centenary College at 4pm.
