Dover, DE - The women's soccer team traveled to Delaware last night to take on Wesley College, hoping to rebound from their loss to DeSales only two days ago.
Things were never going to be easy for Cairn against a Wesley team the drew with the same DeSales University that trounced the Highlanders two days ago. The Highlanders, though, got back to playing tough defense and making things difficult for their opponents. Despite being outshot 20-3 in the first half, the Highlanders were only down 2-0.
The ladies responded in the second half by limiting Wesley College to only 10 second half shots, although the Wolverines did add a third goal in the 73rd minute.
The tandem of
Sara Poole and
Morgan Swan in goal combined for 9 saves. Freshman Morgan Swan came up with 8 saves on the night, with Poole making the other.
Chelsea Miller did record her first career collegiate shot for the Highlanders.
After a tough early season schedule, Coach Behnke hopes her team is ready for conference play as the Highlanders will host Rosemont College on Tuesday for their first conference game of the season. Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm.
