LANGHORNE, PA - The Crimson Eagles won the Mud Bowl against visiting NCCAA East Region foe Valley Forge Christian College 4-0.
On a sloppy pitch and eventually what turned into a torrential downpour, PBU sent a message to the rest of the East Region that they are a team to be reckoned with this year.
Also making a statement was sophomore Kathleen Meacham, who bagged a career game-high 4 goals. If it wasn't for the conditions on the field, she may have had several more. Meacham scored all of 8 goals last season and looks to reach that mark in the early stages of this season. Her 4-goal output matches the record for most goals in a single contest since 2005. Only two other players have accomplished that feat.
Overall, the Crimson Eagles were relentless outshooting their opponents 30-1.
Junior Defender Jessica Holt tallied her first points of the season with 1 assist, while freshman Amara Mills continues to impress in her early career by adding two assists.
Naomi Collipp made 1 save in net for PBU.
The Women's Soccer team now improves to 2-1 on the year.
This Saturday the ladies will travel to Middletown, Pa to take on Penn St.-Harrisburg at 2pm EST.
