CHATTANOOGA, TN - Following a strong opening period, the men's basketball squad went cold during the back end of play on Thursday, eventually falling 90-58 against NCCAA I squad Tennessee Temple University.
Despite leading 36-33 at the break, the Crimson Eagles failed to slow down the Crusaders during the second stanza, allowing 57 second half points from the host squad.
Senior Ben Fuller paced the visitors with 11 points while Charles Kennedy and Willie Miller added nine during a balanced attack that saw all 10 PBU players reach the scoring column.
On Friday, the same story unraveled as the Crimson Eagles went into the locker room down 36-33 to host Atlanta Christian College. But behind a 14-4 spurt to open the second period from the Chargers, Atlanta ultimately rolled to a 92-69 triumph over PBU.
Brett Zamroz paved the way with 17 points for the night while Nate Schrader added 14 points and six boards. Rookie Adam Derus pumped in a career high 12 points, while Miller rounded out the double digit scoring with 11.
The Crimson Eagles slip to 2-7 on the season with the pair of losses.
The basketball team will look to get back in the winning column on Monday when the group returns to CSAC action. PBU will host Immaculata University in the Mason Activity Center with tip-off time slated for 8:00 pm.
