JOHNSON CITY, NY - To say that Davis College has improved over the number of years would probably be a vast understatement.
After clubbing the Falcons two years ago by a count of 10-0, Davis proved Friday night that the Falcons have come a long way since the double-digit trouncing.
Following a highly intense, highly physical battle, the Crimson Eagles walked off the field in their most recent affair with a well-earned 3-0 triumph in hand. But PBU's third win of the season was by no means handed to them; instead, the Crimson Eagles were forced to counter an aggressive style of play that was relatively effective in combating PBU's offensive attack.
"I thought overall we played fairly well and that the guys managed the game well in general," head coach Clay Roberts at the conclusion of Friday's event. "It was nice to get a lot of different guys playing time and I thought everyone stepped in and played to their role extremely well."
Rookie John Minnema notched his first collegiate score in the win while John Badidis and Phil Haas found the back of the cage as well.
The Crimson Eagles, currently ranked fifth overall in NCCAA II, move to 3-2-1 with the win. Davis falls to 2-5.
The soccer team will have little time to recuperate as PBU will remain on the road tomorrow afternoon when the group takes on Keystone College at at 1:00 pm.
