NEWARK, NJ
- New Jersey City University proved to be too much for the Crimson Eagles to handle Saturday evening as the Gothic Knights rolled to a 9-1 triumph over the visitors.

"The were obviously very good," said head coach Clay Roberts at the conclusion of the match." It shows us we have a long way to go and a lot of things to improve on."

The loss marks PBU's most lopsided defeat since the 2002 season when the Crimson Eagles fell 8-0 to Widener College. Sarah Schenkel netted PBU's lone score of the game to help erase the shutout.

"We had some bad mistakes early on that were tough to overcome," Roberts continued. "When you dig yourself in a hole like that things can snowball quickly which is unfortunately what happened tonight."

The Crimson Eagles fall to 1-4 on the year while NJCU improves to 5-2.

The soccer team will look to get back on track during their final tune-up before conference play kicks off. PBU will take on Arcadia University at home on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
