Crimson Eagles Drop 2-0 Decision to Cabrini

Box Score

RADNOR, PA -
It's amazing what a difference just two minutes can make.

After holding Cabrini College scoreless for nearly 80 minutes, the Crimson Eagles ultimately were unable to prevent the Cavaliers from finding the back of the cage Tuesday during a 2-0 loss on the road as the home team scored twice in a two minute span during the back end of play to guide the group to their 10th win of the season.

PBU went 80 minutes fending off a somewhat relentless attack from the home team as Cabrini manufactured 26 total shots for the game, including 17 on target.

But with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation, the Cavaliers' persistence finally paid off. King Saah put home a deflection off a re-start from 25 yards out to put Cabrini on the board. Less than two minutes later, Andrew Jacobs would follow up with a blast from 15 yards out that ended up hooking inside the opposite post.

"It was a great game," Clay Roberts said following the conclusion of things. "We had several opportunities but were unable to finish against a tough Cabrini team. Andy Ecker had an incredible game for us and really kept us in it."

Ecker, PBU's junior goalkeeper, ended the evening with a career-high mark of 15 saves in the net to help contain the top-ranked offense in the conference. With Tuesday's win officially in place, the Cavaliers have scored at least two goals in 10 of 14 games on the year.

With just three regular season games remaining, the Crimson Eagles are in dire need of a string of victories to close out the year in order to have a shot at CSAC postseason contention. PBU currently sits 1-4-1 in conference play with a 5-8-2 mark overall. The Cavaliers improve to 10-3-1 on the season including a 3-1 tally in the CSAC.

PBU will get back into action on Saturday when the squad hosts Marywood University in Langhorne. Game time is 3:00 pm.
