Kyle Bonner

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Kyle Bonner enters his second season on the bench as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program for the 2017-18 season.

Following a four-year playing career, Bonner, a 2016 graduate of Cairn, made the transition from the court to the bench after a strong senior season less before his appointment. The guard averaged 7.8 points per game including three games with 20-plus points. He shot 37.7% from three-point-land and made eight starts in his final season on the court.

Coach O'Connell had the opportunity to coach Bonner for his final two seasons as a player and is excited to have him on the sidelines again this season, albeit in a different capacity. "(Kyle) has been extremely loyal to our program and we are fortunate to have him in his new role as assistant coach. He will have a wide variety of responsibilities on our coaching staff."

During his time on the floor, Bonner was a three-time member of the CSAC All-Academic Team and the 2015-16 Highlander Award winner for men's basketball for his attitude and effort both in the classroom and on the court.

"(My senior year) I was able to grow great relationships with all of the players and I am looking forward to continuing that development through my position as a coach," said Bonner of his 2015-16 senior campaign.
