Jon Bishop is entering his second year as assistant men’s basketball coach in 2015-16 supporting Jason O’Connell. He came to Cairn after spending one year as the assistant at Penn State Altoona.
Other coaching experience for Bishop includes assistant coaching for the varsity men’s basketball program at Lancaster Bible College as a student for two seasons (2009-2011), as well as assisting at Elizabethtown High School for two seasons in their varsity program (2011-2013).
Jon graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2011 with a B.S. degree in Biblical Studies and Sports Management. Bishop received his H.S. diploma from Shenectady Christian School. He is currently working on his M.S. in Counseling.
While at Shenectady Christian School, Jon’s team in 2007 went 25-2 and made it to the Class C State Final Four. As an assistant at LBC, Jon helped the team to back-to-back NCCAA Division 2 National Tournament appearances. Bishop also aided his Elizabethtown H.S. team to a record of 33-19 over two seasons.
Jon has also coached AAU teams Susquehanna Wildcats and Penn Motion.
