Colt Wolfe

Colt is joining the Highlanders in his first year as an Assistant Coach. Colt is from Eaton Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Sports Management.

During his playing career, he played 4 varsity years at Calvin as a first baseman while setting several new school records including single-season HR (12) and RBI (44), and career records for HR (26) and 2B (39). Additionally in college, Colt was awarded Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's "Player To Watch", ABCA/Rawlings All Region Team Selection, National D3 Team of the Week, as well as All-Conference honors three out of four years. Colt went on to play professional baseball this past summer in the Pecos League for the White Sands Pupfish out of New Mexico.

Colt's favorite baseball experience was his time spent playing for the Xenia Scouts, and Athletes in Action based team in the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer Baseball League. "That summer was life changing for me as I was mentored into finally understanding why Jesus died for us, and that we do not have to earn our way to Heaven, it is simply given once we accept it. That summer I made great strides in my faith in addition to playing great baseball." Colt returned to Calvin his senior year and founded an Athletes in Action chapter on Calvin's campus.

Colt is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership while coaching at Cairn, and his career goals are to become a full time collegiate baseball coach, as well as continuing his professional baseball career as far as he can. Colt's strength as a coach will be his approach to hitting and working with the first basemen and catchers.

"I am super excited to be coaching for Cairn. I can't wait to help develop this program both on and off the field. It is obvious that Coach Shallenberger is developing the program in the right way.  My biggest goal here is to have an impact on each individual player to help them grow both as baseball players and men of God."

“We could not be more excited to add Colt to our staff. He will bring a tremendous work ethic to our team. His approach to hitting will truly help add to an offense that made great strides this past year. The care he shows for the guys and their development will go a long way in his ability to impact them!.” Head Coach Phill Shallenberger
