Langhorne, PA- The first match of the 2026 Cairn Men's Soccer (0-1-1, 0-0 United East) season inside the Stillman Athletic Complex ended in a 0-0 draw against Arcadia University (1-0-1, 0-0 MAC Freedom).
The story of the Friday evening match in Langhorne was the defense, as the first shot on goal by either team was off high and right off the foot of Cairn's
Fah Diomande (Ermont, France / Pocono Mountain West) in the eleventh minute. Four minutes later, Arcadia took their first shot of the match (15') which was saved by Highlander keeper
Xander Jakeway (Lancaster, CA / Quartz Hill). Two more shots would be attempted by Cairn (16', 17') before a 23 minute drought stalled the Highlander offense, until senior forward
Alijah Miller's (Monroe, NC / Homeschool) shot (40') was blocked by the Knights.
In the second period, Cairn attempted 2 shots to Arcadia's lone attempt on goal, until Arcadia's last efforts to break the draw were unsuccessful in the 87th and 89th minute. Jakeway's save (87') sealed the shutout for the Highlanders, but Cairn was unable to break through the Knights' defense, ending the match in a 0-0 draw.
Statistically, the teams were virtually even in the box score. Arcadia out shot Cairn 7-6 (2-1 on goal), Arcadia attempted 6 corner kicks to Cairn's 5, and the Highlander goalie had 2 saves to the Knight's single save. Cairn University seeks their first win of the 2026 campaign in a non-conference Labor Day (9/7/26) match in Langhorne against Penn State-Hazleton  at 4pm.
