Bronx, NY - Three Highlanders scored multiple goals in the 9-0 win
over Lehman College (1-3, 0-0 CUNYAC), including a career high three goals from junior
forward
Josey Smith (Levittown, PA / Pennsbury). Sophomore
Ella Quince (Morrisville, PA /
Morrisville) recorded two goals, making this her fourth straight game with multiple goals. Two
additional goals came from senior midfielder
Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Township, NJ / Atlantic
Christian).
Heading into the game with a three game winning streak, and 17 goals in the previous three
contests, the Highlander offense continued rolling from the opening kick, with Quince (2') and
Noble (4') both scoring in the first five minutes for an early 2-0 Cairn lead. At the 13 minute mark
in the opening period,
Josey Smith scored her first of three goals, followed by Noble's second
goal (27') off the assist from Quince. Junior
Abbey Gatesman (Greenwood, AR / Greenwood)
recorded her second goal of the year (35') to push the lead to 5-0 in favor of Cairn(4-1, 0-0 United East) before the
end of the period.
Josey Smith scored the next two goals (45', 52') to complete her hat trick; the former off another
assist from Quince. Junior
Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ / Calvary Academy) registered her fourth
straight game with an assist with a pass to set up Quince for another Highlander goal (55').
Cairn would score one more goal before the night was over, as sophomore forward Trinity
Garcia (Gilbert, AZ / Dobson) scored her first goal of the season for Cairn. Senior goalkeeper
Rhian Erspamer (Valparaiso, IN / Victory Christian) had three saves to shutout the Lightning.
The Highlanders out shot the Lightning 32-7 (22-3 on goal) in the 9-0 win over Lehman College.
Now 4-1 on the young season, Cairn travels to Reading, PA for a Saturday (9/19) contest
against Alvernia University (1-3-1, 0-0 MAC Commonwealth) at 5pm.
