Langhorne, PA – Cairn defeats Gallaudet 94-67.

The Highlanders jumped out to an early lead. 8 quick points from graduate guard Ron Ayers (Prince George's County, MD / Stevenson University) helped push the Highlanders out in front 24-7. Cairn (17-6 / 9-2 UNITED EAST) and Gallaudet (2-16 / 1-9 UNITED EAST) traded points to 28-11. The Highlanders stretched the deficit even further with a 10-0 run sparked by a pair of free throws by senior guard Nick Rivera (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) and capped off with a dunk by graduate guard Jaylon Simpson (Atlanta, GA / Belmont Abbey). A pair of 3-pointers by senior guard Liam Carey (Ottsville, PA / Palisades) put the Highlanders up by 29, but the Bison rallied late and the game went to halftime with a score of 53-30. 

Graduate guard Corey Baldwin (Henderson, NC / Averett) converted an early and-1 for the Highlanders before both teams went into a scoring drought. There was nearly 3 minutes of play with no points before a Bison lay-up broke the seal. Cairn responded by pushing the lead back out to 30 points behind a pair of Baldwin triples. The Highlanders rode this momentum till the end of the game claiming a 94-67 victory over Gallaudet.

Cairn goes on the road Saturday February 7th to take on Penn College at 1 PM.
