Langhorne, PA - Cairn beats Neumann 3-0.
Cairn (4-14 / 1-0 UNITED EAST) controlled the beginning of the game jumping out to an 8-3 lead after a strong serving performance by freshman opposite
Justin Panaia (Jamison, PA / Dock Mennonite), picking up 2 aces in 3 serves. Neumann (1-8 / 0-1 UNITED EAST) shrunk the gap to 13-10 before freshman opposite
Nehemiah Clark (Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea / Ukarumpa International School) scored 3 kills in a 4 point stretch. The Highlanders rode this momentum from Clark to the end of the game, winning 25-21.Â
The second game of the match saw Cairn build a lead following a pair of kills by  junior outside hitter
Sam Poirier (Nogyang, South Korea /  International Christian School Uijeongbu) and an ace by freshman middle hitter Reuben Leonard (Ankara, Turkey / Oasis International School). The Highlanders defended this lead for the remainder of the game closing it out with another kill by Poirier and an ace by Clark.Â
The third game started with Neumann taking control early before Poirier and Panaia strung together 4 kills to take an 11-8 lead. Cairn held on to that slight advantage until Neumann threatened late, tying the game at 23. A Neumann attack error and one final kill from Panaia closed the match and gave Cairn the 3-0 victory.Â
The Highlanders will return to action on Thursday February 26 going on the road to play Lancaster Bible College.Â
