Langhorne, PA - Cairn drops 4 set match to Ramapo.
Game 1 started with even play from both sides, trading the lead back and forth until the Highlanders claimed a 23-21 advantage after a kill by junior outside hitter
Sam Poirier (Nogyang, South Korea / International Christian School Uijeongbu). Ramapo (4-7 / 0-0 NJAC) responded to the kill and rattled off 4 consecutive points to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Game 2 saw an early Ramapo lead as the roadrunners took control 12-5. Cairn (3-14 / 0-0 UNITED EAST) was unable to comeback despite a trio of kills and an ace by freshman opposite
Justin Panaia (Jamison, PA / Dock Mennonite) and Ramapo claimed he second game 25-16.
The third game was another back-and-forth affair with the Highlanders and Roadrunners trading points until Ramapo took a 19-18 lead. Cairn went on a 5 point run to claim a 23-19 lead. The Roadrunners threatened a comeback with 3 straight points, but a pair of blocks by the Highlanders clinched the 3rd game for Cairn 25-23.
Game number 4 saw the Roadrunners claim an early 5-2 lead over Cairn. The Highlanders rallied back cutting the lead to 1 as late as 23-22 following another kill by Poirier, but were unable to get over the hump and dropped the fourth game 25-22.
Cairn returns to action Monday February 23rd by hosting Pratt at 7 PM.
