Abington, PA - The #8 seed Highlanders (6-6-6, 3-4-1 United East) traveled to #1 Penn State
Abington (11-4-4, 8-0-0 United East) for an United East Conference Quarterfinal match, falling
4-0 to the Nittany Lions.
PSU-Abington out shot Cairn 16-13, 9-7 on goal, and the Nittany Lions
committed 19 fouls to Cairn's 13, but the early Nittany Lion goals (15', 19') were too much to
overcome.
Cairn had two more shots on goal to get on the scoreboard before half but were unable to
connect, taking the 2-0 deficit into the break. Two more Abington goals (57', 69') extended the
Highlander deficit to 4-0.
The Highlanders improved on their 5-10-3 2025 campaign and have reached at least the UEC
Quarterfinals in each season in the conference
