Langhorne, PA – St. Mary's outpaced the Highlanders in their first home conference match of 2026, as Cairn fell 98-40.
Cairn (1-10 / 0-4 UNITED EAST) struggled to find their footing in the first quarter against St. Mary's(MD) (9-5 / 3-0 UNITED EAST) getting outscored 27-3 in the first frame. Junior forward Dezary Bright (Keystone Heights, FL / Keystone Heights) led the Highlander offense in the second, scoring 8 of her 14 total points in the second quarter. Cairn entered the half trailing by a score of 52-16.
Early in the second half senior guard
Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire) found a small rhythm making a pair of free throws before sinking a 3-pointer. Sobrino knocked down another three in the forth quarter and quickly followed this up by assisting on a three by Freshman guard
Olivia Logan (Cherry Hill, NJ / Camden Co. College), but the Highlanders long range shooting came on too late and they eventually fell to the Seahawks 98-40.
The Highlanders will return to action on Saturday January 10th when they host Penn State Brandywine at 3 PM.
