Saint Davids, PA - Cairn falls 3-0 in second half of Tri-match hosted by Eastern.
Cairn (0-8 / 0-0 UNITED EAST) fell behind quickly, seeing Elizabethtown (6-1 / 0-0 CVC) craft a 7-3 lead early in the first set. Elizabethtown defended this lead until the score reached 13-7. At this point the Highlanders poured on 6 straight points to tie the set. This Highlander run was a team effort with 4 different players recording kills. After this hot streak from Cairn the match remained close with the Highlanders recording a point to lead 22-21. The Blue Jays took control from this point and claimed the first set of the match 25-23.
The second set was similar to the first, seeing an early Blue Jay lead countered by a Cairn run, this time a 4-0 run to bring the Highlanders within 1 point. Once again Elizabethtown was able to garner control of the set following the Highlander run and this time Elizabethtown claimed the set by a wider margin 25-18.
The third set saw the Blue Jays remain in control for a majority of the set, with the lone Highlander lead coming at 6-5 following a block by senior setter
