LANGHORNE, PA – It was a big day for the Highlanders, celebrating their Senior day with a win over Centenary University, 14-5.
Before the game, Cairn Lacrosse's six seniors were honored for their accomplishments and impact on the team over their years with the program: attackman
Jacob Lingerman (Goshen, NY / Goshen), goalkeeper
Nico Cione (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury), defenseman Joshua Dahn (Smithsburg, MD / Heritage Academy), midfielder
Ethan Meiers (Plainsboro, NJ / West Windsor Plainsboro South), attackman
Jason Briant (Lake Hiawatha, NJ / Morris Catholic), and short stick defensive midfielder
Caleb Vargas (Montgomery Village, MD / Watkins Mill).
Cairn (1-11 / 0-4 UNITED EAST) took on Centenary (0-12 / 0-5 ATLANTIC EAST) for a Senior day finale in Langhorne, PA and finished the season on a high note starting off with three straight goals scored in the first, two being scored by Lingerman and the other being scored by junior attackman
Cole Heffler (Eldersburg, MD / Central Maryland Christian), also accompanying an assist from Lingerman's first goal.
The Cyclones would score one goal next, but then the Highlanders would go on to score 7 straight, dominating the whole second period. Lingerman and junior midfielder
Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker) closed the period with 2 goals for the Highlanders. Heffler and Holliday would score 3 combined for the Highlanders, along with attackman
Luke Fowler (Landenberg, PA / Wilmington Christian) and Cione joining in on the fun with his first career goal as he moved out of goal for the third quarter, making it a 10-1 Highlander lead.
Briant would score a pair of goals against the Cyclones as it was his senior day as well, along with Meiers having a memorable goal for himself on senior day. Heffler would score one more and the Highlanders would eventually win the game by a score of 14-5.
Holliday, Lingerman, and Heffler all had 3 goals each with Lingerman having as many assists and Holliday adding two assists as well in the win over the Cyclones in the season finale.
