LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Women's Tennis faced Penn College for a United East Conference match on Wednesday, winning 5-2.
DOUBLES PLAY
Sophomore
Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) and classmate
Delaney Bouton (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach High School) both rebounded from last doubles match, winning 6-2 in the #1 doubles match. Senior
Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire HS) and
Tatiana Ipri (Mullica Hill, NJ / Gloucester Christian School) had a competitive match in the #2 doubles spot, just falling shy of the win, losing. 6-4. #3 doubles were a win by forfeit in favor of the Highlanders, taking the doubles team point.
SINGLES PLAY
Griffith bounced back from last game and did her thing against Penn College, having a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win in the #1 singles match. Bouton had a very close and tight net game with the Wildcats, going to three sets, winning the first set, but then falling just short in the final two, falling 7-5, 6-1, and 7-5. Sophomore
Madison Searls (Seaford, DE / Salisbury Christian School) took on the #3 singles spot as she fought hard, having many close games, but fell short 6-1, 6-1. Sobrino took care of the #4 singles match as she won 6-1, 6-3 against the Wildcats, getting back to her winning ways. Sophomore
Hajin Seo (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) and Ipri both won their respected singles matches by forfeits.
The Highlanders will face Penn St. Abington for their fourth straight and final day of the homestand, hoping to end their regular season off with a win on Thursday at 3 pm.
