LAX: Heffler Records 100th Career Points in High Scoring Battle on the Main Line

ROSEMONT, PA – Cairn Lacrosse played a close game with Rosemont on Wednesday night, falling 18-11 in the high scoring affair.

Rosemont (5-8 / 2-1 UNITED EAST) opened on six unanswered goals in the first quarter, adding a seventh as the second period got underway. Senior attackman Jacob Lingerman (Goshen, NY / Goshen) got the Highlanders on the board with an unassisted goal as junior attackman Cole Heffler (Eldersburg, MD / Central Maryland Christian) threw in back-to-back goals as well as classmate Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker) and sophomore attackman Luke Fowler (Landenberg, PA / Wilmington Christian), all unassisted, to cut the lead to 7-5.

As the Ravens added three more before the end of the half, Heffler scored again, assisted by Lingerman, for his third goal of the night and 100th career point, becoming the second player in program history to reach 100 career points (Jonathan Balsamo – 2024). Holliday added another as well with six seconds to play in the half as Cairn (0-10 / 0-3 UNITED EAST) was down 10-7 after 30 minutes of action.

The Ravens scored two quick goals out of the break as Heffler found the net, assisted by Holliday. Holliday then got back in on the action with back-to-back goals, assisted by Fowler on the first, with Rosemont adding another on the last possession of the third quarter, ahead 14-10.

In the fourth, Heffler got things started with his fifth goal of the game before Rosemont ran to the finish with four unanswered goals to end things off, 18-11.

Heffler tied his career-high with 5 goals, including his 100th career point on six shots. Holliday had four goals, also tying a career-high, adding an assist as well as 13 ground balls as he went 64% in faceoffs. Fowler and Lingerman each had a goal and assist in the game.

Cairn will host Penn College at 11:30 am on Saturday in their conference finale at home.
