LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn Women's Tennis team kicked off their second game of the week against the St. Mary's Seahawks at home, losing 7-0.
DOUBLES PLAY
Sophomore
Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) and classmate
Delaney Bouton (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach High School) kicked off the #1 doubles match with a hard fought two games, but the Seahawks eventually won 6-2. The #2 doubles match was started by junior
Tatiana Ipri (Mullica Hill, NJ / Gloucester County Christian School) and senior
Kailee Sobrino (Vail, AZ / Empire HS) who fought hard against the Seahawks, gaining a game, but fell 6-1. Sophomore
Madison Searls (Seaford, DE / Salisbury Christian School) and classmate
Hajin Seo (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) were in charge of the #3 doubles match and were also able to take one game from the Seahawks, leaving it all out on the court, but eventually falling by a score of 6-1.
SINGLES PLAY
Griffith started off singles playing against tough competition in the Seahawks as she fought hard and was able to earn two games, but came up short with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Ipri was I charge of the #3 singles and fought hard, as there were many close points in the process, but fell by a score of 6-0, 6-1. The #4 singles match was led by Searls as she fought through the match with toughness, earning one game, coming short with a score of 6-1, 6-0. Sobrino's assignment was the #5 singles as she had a rough start in the first set but then managed to get three important games on the Seahawks, but coming up shy, with a score of 6-0, 6-3. Seo had the final singles match of the day for Cairn, playing #6 and earning a well deserving 2 games in her match, falling by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
The Highlanders will look to continue their home stand with a meeting with Penn College on Wednesday at 3 pm.
