LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Lacrosse was bested by Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, outscored 21-3.
 
It was all Griffins through the first 29 minutes of play as Gwynedd Mercy (4-6 / ATLANTIC EAST) went ahead 15-0. Senior attackman Jason Briant (Lake Hiawatha, NJ / Morris Catholic) netted the Highlanders' first goal with seconds to play in the half, assisted by classmate Jacob Lingerman (Goshen, NY / Goshen), down 15-1 at the half.
 
Gwynedd Mercy scored three to open the third period before sophomore midfielder Luke Fowler (Landenberg, PA / Wilmington Christian) scored, assisted by junior attackman Cole Heffler (Eldersburg, MD / Central Marylan Christian). Junior face off/midfielder Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker) scored Cairn's (0-6 / UNITED EAST) third goal with three minutes to play in the fourth, down 20-3 as the Griffins added another to bring the final score to 21-3.
 
Briant, Fowler, and Holliday had the only scoring for Cairn as Heffler and Lingerman each added assists. Holliday scooped up 5 ground balls on the game while senior long stick midfielder Ethan Meiers (Plainsboro, NJ / West Windsor Plainsboro South) recorded a team-high three caused turnovers.
 
Cairn will take a break before their rescheduled game with FDU-Florham on April 1 in Madison at 7 p.m.
