NEW HAVEN, CT – Cairn Men's Lacrosse continued their stretch of road games, heading up to New Haven, CT and facing off with Albertus Magnus, falling to the Falcons 10-3.
Junior attackman
Cole Heffler (Eldersburg, MD / Central Maryland Christian) got things started with the lone goal of the first quarter to give Cairn (0-5 / UNITED EAST) the lead. Albertus Magnus (2-2 / GNAC) owned the second period with four unanswered goals, pushing ahead 4-1 before the half.
Sophomore midfielder
Luke Fowler (Landenberg, PA / Wilmington Christian) answered with a goal to start the third quarter, assisted by Heffler. The Falcons continued to add on to their lead with a pair of goals ahead of senior attackman
Jacob Lingerman's (Goshen, NY / Goshen) eleventh goal of the season, assisted by senior goalkeeper
Nico Cione (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) to make it 6-3. Albertus Magnus went on to raise the margin to 10-3 as time ran out.
Fowler, Heffler, and Lingerman had the only offense on the day for Cairn as Heffler and Cione each added an assist. Junior midfielder
Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker) picked up 11 ground balls as defensemen
Josh Dahn (Smithsburg, MD / Heritage Academy) and
Elijah Haney (Stockholm, Sweden / Southern Lehigh) each had a pair of caused turnovers.
The Highlanders will have a break before hosting Mount St. Vincent on March 20 at 7 p.m.
