BRYN ATHYN, PA - Cairn's Men's Cross Country was on the road again Saturday, racing in the Bryn Athyn Invitational. The Highlanders finished with half of their team reaching personal bests, landing them with a first place team finish as all ten runners finished in the top 50. Cairn Men's Cross Country followed up 2023's Cairn Women's Cross Country 1st Place finish in the Bryn Athyn with a 1st Place finish of their own.
Junior
Titus Dingle (Catonsville, MD / Chapelgate Christian) pulled ahead in this 8K in 8th place overall, fastest of his team, finishing at 30.56.9, and averaged an incredible 6.14 minute mile.
The next runner to cross the finish line was senior
Avian Hall (Brooklyn, NY / Homeschool) in 9th place, finishing in 31:49.1. Following Hall, two personal bests were set: sophomore
Jesse Stuart (Chattanooga, TN / Chiang Rai International), who finished in 12th place, ending the race in 32.27.1 and sophomore
Derek Tewksbury (Portland, CT / Portland) who paced a 6:37 mile, and an overall time of 32:52.87.
Next up was senior
Jeremy Golden (Lancaster, PA / Clarks Summit) at 34:04.0 and following Golden was another personal best from senior
Dillan Smith (Andover, ME / Telstar Regional), finishing at 35:06.41. Freshman
Elijah Bailey (Philadelphia, PA / Commonwealth Charter) finished just seconds behind Smith at 35:34.4. A few minutes later, sophomore
Aaron Frisch (Claremont, NH / Claremont Christian) crossed the finish line at 39:43.4. Finishing the Highlander's streak of personal bests, sophomore
Levi Mix (Montgomery, TX / West-Orange Stark) and senior
Nathaniel Lofgren (Waterford, PA / General McLane) came through at 40:19.1 and 44:52.0.
Next week, Saturday October 5, Cairn hosts the annual Highlander Invitational with the men's race at 11:00 AM.
