WVB: Cairn Sweeps Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, PA – Cairn Women's Volleyball was hosted by Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday, making quick work of the Owls in a 3-0 sweep.
 
Cairn (6-2) opened with five-straight points after surrendering the first point of the match. As the Highlanders pushed ahead 14-5, senior outside hitter Caroline Conrad (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) added two kills. Bryn Mawr (4-7) swung the momentum their way for a stretch, cutting the lead to four (14-10) before Cairn took over the crossed the finish line with a final score of 25-16 in set one.
 
Senior opposite Hendryl Peabody (Bensalem, PA / Faith Baptist Christian Academy) had the first two points for Cairn in set two before going for four straight kills to bring the Highlanders to a 13-8 lead. Junior defensive specialist Delaney Hollenbeck (Kingsley, PA / Lackawanna College) got the serve and tallied two aces with sophomore middle hitter Madison Delp (York, PA / Clarks Summit University) adding a kill and block, teaming up with Conrad, along the way to take set two, 25-13.
 
Conrad started with the serve in the third, opening the frame with two aces and a kill for a 5-0 lead. As the Owls looked to prolong the game and force another set, sophomore outside hitter Bridget Dahn (Smithsburg, MD / Heritage Academy) went for three kills before Peabody notched her game-high 13th kill as Cairn came away with a 25-19 set win and sweep.
 
Peabody finished with 13 kills for 13 points. Conrad was also in double-digits for points with 10.5 via eight kills, two aces and a shared block. Junior libero Payton Cline (Falling Waters, WV / Heritage Academy) had a game-high 16 digs, getting the offensive set started.
 
Cairn will match up with Immaculata on Saturday for Homecoming, serving up their match with the Mighty Macs starting at 11 a.m.
