LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn Women's Tennis team hosted the St. Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks and Bryn Athyn College Lions for a day/night doubleheader at the McCurdy Tennis Facility.
St. Mary's (6-4 / 2-0 UNITED EAST VOLT DIVISION) took on both the Men's & Women's Tennis teams from Cairn (4-1 / 3-0 UNITED EAST SKYE DIVISION) in a Volt/Skye Division crossover. The Seahawks took both the #1 and #2 doubles before the duo of senior
Rachel Campbell-Robertson (Richmond, VA / Veritas School) and sophomore
Tatiana Ipri (Mullica Hill, NJ / Gloucester County Christian School) won the #3 doubles 8-3.
In singles play, Campbell-Robertson fought to a three set game, taking the first set 6-4 and tie breaker 10-8. Senior
Gabriella Hurst (Stevens, PA / Cocalico High School) also won her singles match up, 6-4, 3-6, and 10-4 as the Highlanders dropped their match with the Seahawks, 6-3.
For their Skye Division matchup with Bryn Athyn (3-3 / 0-1 UNITED EAST SKYE DIVISION) in the nightcap, the Highlanders had a clean sweep of the Lions, 9-0. The duo of Campbell-Robertson dominated doubles play, 8-0. Freshman
Reagan Griffith (Doylestown, PA / Central Bucks East) swept her opponent in #1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 as did freshman
Laney Bouton (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Point Pleasant Beach High School) in #5 singles. Tuesday marks the Highlanders' third sweep this season as they move to 4-1 and 3-0 in conference play.
Cairn Women's Tennis will head to Harrisburg on Saturday to take on Penn State - Harrisburg.
