SB: Cairn Drops Conference Opener to Wilson

LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn Softball team dropped both games of their conference opener to Wilson College, 6-2 and 8-0, on Saturday.
 
GAME ONE
Notables
  • Sophomore infielder Sydney Wright (Souderton, PA / Souderton Area HS) and freshman pitcher Evelyn Johnson (Yardley, PA / Calvary Christian) each collected two hits in game one.
Scoring
  • The Highlanders got on the board in the seventh, scratching across two runs as freshman shortstop Emily Brittin (Winslow, NJ / Pilgrim Academy) led off with an infield single followed by classmate Ella Quince (Morrisville, PA / Morrisville) with a single as well to put two runners on.
  • Senior centerfielder Adriana Shannon (Marlton, NJ / Cherokee) singled, driving in Brittin. Sophomore catcher Myiah Petroro (Long Island, NY / Liberty University Online Academy) singled next, scoring Quince.
 
GAME TWO
Notables
  • Brittin and junior infielder Julia Bruestle (Abington, PA / Abington) had the only hits for the Highlanders in game two, both going 1-2, Brittin with a double.
  • Johnson pitched two thirds of an inning scoreless in relief.
 
The Highlanders will face off in their rescheduled series to Rosemont College on Monday night at 6 & 8 p.m.
