BB: Cairn Battles with Lehigh University

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Cairn University Baseball team took on the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks in their annual matchup on Wednesday afternoon, the Highlanders battling to a 12-2 defeat.
 
SCORING PLAYS
  • Cairn (23-14 / 14-4 UNITED EAST SKYE DIVISION) scored their only runs in the fourth starting with freshman center fielder Zachary Johnson (Hawaii Kai, HI / TCS Post Grad) being hit by a pitch and junior right fielder Dylan Jackson (Levittown, PA / Chestnut Hill College) working a walk to put two runners on. Sophomore catcher Zach Bauers (Cooper City, FL / Cooper City) came up big with a two-run double, scoring Johnson & Jackson.
NOTABLES
  • Bauers had two hits in the match up, going 2-3 with 2 RBI.
  • Juniors Tyler Warr (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy), Will Wikner (Gaithersburg, MD / Shenandoah University), and fifth year third baseman Sam Spadea (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) rounded out the hits for the Highlanders.
  • Senior reliever Ethan Fineman (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) had a dominant outing, going two innings with as many strikeouts.
