NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – The Cairn University Men's Lacrosse team took on the Fighting Scots of Gordon College, Wednesday afternoon, on the neutral field of Delaware County Christian School, dropping their spring break matchup, 13-3.
NOTABLES:
- Freshman midfielder Luke Fowler (Landenberg, PA / Wilmington Christian) scored his first two career goals, now tied with two teammates as the second leading scorer on the team.
- Sophomore midfielder Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker Academy) scored his first goal of the season late in the fourth quarter.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon (4-4) got off to an early 2-0 lead until Fowler responded with his first goal of the game to put the Highlanders on the board down 2-1.
- The Fighting Scots struck for five unanswered goals to end the half ahead 7-1
- Fowler was the first to find the net for Cairn (0-4), scoring just over a minute into the third quarter.
- Gordon continued to get off shots on goal, totaling six second half goals, now ahead 13-2.
- Holliday closed the day with a goal with just under two minute to play as the final score ended at 13-3.
