CHAMBERSBURG, PA – The Cairn University Men's Basketball team traveled to Wilson College on Monday night as they took on the Phoenix in a long awaited matchup that was originally postponed due to snow. The Highlanders would fall short, 71-56 on the road.

NOTABLES:
  • Fifth year guard Josh Forker (Telford, PA / Faith Christian Academy) led all Cairn players with 14 points, shooting 2-5 from behind the arc and 6-12 from the floor. He added a block and a steal on the defensive end.
  • Senior forward Owen Bradford (Lansdale, PA / University of Valley Forge) scored 13 points with nine rebounds and three assists while senior guard Aytor Alberto (Willemstad, Curraçao / Clarks Summit University) provided 12 points.
  • Senior forward Derian Bradford (Lansdale, PA / University of Valley Forge) was the fourth player in double figures at 11 points.
  • Sophomore guard Moses Ilodigwe (Wilmington, DE / Lycoming College) also had a pair of triples leading to his six points on 2-5 shooting.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The action was knotted up to begin the night as Wilson and Cairn traded the lead back and forth early. The Highlanders would get ahead as much as three points on a Derian Bradford layup.
  • A fast break three by Ilodigwe would get Cairn ahead by one before before relinquishing the lead and Wilson running up to the nine-point lead they took into halftime (39-30)
  • Out of the break, Cairn held their own before Wilson went on to score 18 points to their 6 through the middle portion of the second half, extending the lead up to 19.
  • Derian Bradford scored six in a row to get his squad back in the game, cutting the lead to single digits before Wilson finished on an 8-2 run in the final minutes, taking a 71-56 conference victory.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
  • Cairn hosts Keystone for a Women's/Men's doubleheader on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Langhorne.
