LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Men's Soccer prepares for their 2024 postseason debut, hosting #6 Penn College on Saturday night.
The Highlanders are ranked third in the conference seeding, as they went 7-0-1 in conference play and 10-2-5 overall. Cumulatively, Cairn has scored forty-three goals this season, averaging 2.53 goals per game while holding opponents under a goal per game (0.88), the 26
th best goal differential in NCAA Division III.
Leading the team in goals with thirteen is senior forward
Jesse Brittain (Chester, PA / The Christian Academy) who scored his 50th collegiate goal against Penn State Berks last Saturday. Sophomore forward
Alijah Miller (Monroe, NC / Homeschool) follows in rank with nine goals. Senior midfielder
Moses Beers (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Twp.) leads the team in assists with thirteen followed by Miller with seven.
From the 108 shots launched at sophomore goalkeeper
Xander Jakeway (Lancaster, CA / Quartz Hill High), he has only allowed 13 this season, averaging 1.04 GAA. He was also named United East Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after his performances against Rosemont College and Keystone, shutting out both conference opponents.
Cairn looks to start their postseason run with their first match on Saturday, November 2
nd under the lights at 7 p.m. as they host the six-seeded Wildcats of Penn College, whom they played to a 1-1 draw during the regular season. Safe to say, we will have a winner this time around.
