LANGHORNE, PA - #8 Cairn Women's Soccer hosted #9 Bryn Athyn College in the first round of the 2024 United East Women's Soccer Championship as they were shutout by the Lions, 2-0.

Cairn (5-9-1 / 5-3 UNITED EAST) would take the first shots of the match, looking to get out to any early lead but it was Bryn Athyn (7-8-1 / 3-4-1 UNITED EAST) who would strike first, scoring in the 28th minute. The squads would trade shots with the Lions out-shooting the Highlanders 9-6 in the first half and holding onto the lead heading into halftime.

Sophomore forward Ella Quince (Morrisville, PA / Morrisville) would take three quick shots around the 70th minute in an effort to equalize ahead of the Lions striking the back of the net again to get ahead 2-0. With the season on the line, Cairn would take three shots down the stretch, two saved, but time would run out on their playoff hopes as Bryn Athyn took the match, 2-0.

The Highlanders would manage only three shots on goal to Bryn Athyn's seven as the Lions advance to the United East Quarterfinal round to face #1 Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday.

Cairn Women's Soccer closes out the 2024 season, shifting their focus to what 2025 will hold.
