Men's Basketball: Bradford Scores Career-High 41 as Highlanders Come Up Short

LA PLUME, PA – The Cairn University Men's Basketball team traveled to Keystone College on Wednesday afternoon to play the back-end of the doubleheader against the Giants. Keystone came away with the narrow 90-84 victory.

  • Senior forward Derian Bradford (Lansdale, PA / University of Valley Forge) dropped a career high 41-points with 7 rebounds and 4 assists, all without recording a three-pointer made.
  • Junior guard Christian Rivera (Cayey, Puerto Rico / Central Bucks East) scored 13 points with 6 assists.
  • Senior forward Owen Bradford (Lansdale, PA / University of Valley Forge) rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Highlanders, adding 12 points with a block.
 HOW IT PLAYED OUT
  • Cairn (7-4 / 2-2 United East Skye Division) took their only lead of the afternoon early in the first half before Keystone (4-9 / 4-1 United East Skye Division) got out and running, going ahead by as much as 14.
  • The Bradford brothers combined for 26 points in the first half as the Highlanders were on the defensive, trying to cut the lead.
  • Down the stretch, Cairn would cut the lead to single digits as they battled back behind Derian Bradford in the second half, scoring 25 points in the frame.
  • Keystone made their free throws late to put the game out of reach in a tightly played second half, taking the game 90-84.
