ALLENTOWN, PA – The Cairn University Women's Basketball team was on the road Wednesday night, taking on the Falcons of Cedar Crest College. Despite a second-half comeback, the Highlanders fell 65-46.
 
BOX SCORE DETAILS:

• Freshman guard Makayla Raines (Jonesboro, GA / St. Mary's Academy) was the only Highlander in double-digits, scoring 23 points.
• Freshman forward Dezaray Bright (Keystone Heights, FL / Keystone Heights HS) grabbed 7 rebounds and added 8 points.

HOW IT PLAYED OUT:

• Cedar Crest (5-6 / 4-4 United East Skye Division) had momentum from the tip, opening on a 9-2 run and closing the first quarter up 14-5
• In the second quarter, the Falcons shot close to 70% from the field, outscoring Cairn (7-6 / 3-4 United East Skye Division) 28-8 in the frame.
• Out of halftime, the Highlanders settled in, outscoring the Falcons by ten in the second half.
• Raines scored 12 of the 14 Highlander points in the third quarter, splashing a pair of triples, and got back to work in the fourth.
• Despite the late comeback, Cedar Crest took the game, 65-46.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:

• The Highlanders return home to take on the Eagles of Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday in the front end of the doubleheader action at 1 p.m.
