ABINGTON, PA - The Cairn University Men's & Women's Cross Country teams competed in the Abington Invitational on Saturday morning, hosted by Penn State Abington.
The Men's team ran first, at 9 a.m., placing 15th overall. Senior
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschool) was the top finisher for the men's squad, placing 55th with a time of 34:48.40. Freshman
Danny Kushay (Cinniminson, NJ / Calvary Christian Academy) and junior
Avian Hall (Brookyln, NY / Homeschool) followed right behind Palladino in 56th and 57th places with times of 34:52.08 and 34:57.16, respectively. Sophomore
Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker Academy) and senior
Taylor Heim (Levittown, PA / Homeschool) finished in 97th and 98th, tenths of seconds apart, at 42:33.53 and 42:33.91. Sophomore
Caleb Vargas (Montgomery Village, MD / Watkins Mill) rounded out the field with a time of 53:17.64 in 109th place.
The women raced next at 10 a.m., placing 5th overall out of a field of 11. Freshman
Clarisse Hayden (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) finished 3rd for the third race in a row with a time of 26:05.87. Junior
Erin Wilson (Southampton, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) finished next with a time of 31:00.14 in 26th place. Senior
Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) came in 36th place with a time of 32:02.81 followed by sophomore
Alizabeth Hayden (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) in 42nd place (33:15.38). Sophomore
Morgan Steele (Bowie, MD / Estele Christian Academy) placed 48th (33:57.52). Sophomore
Kate O'Brien (Lumberton, NJ / Trinity Preparatory) closed out the team results in 60th (37:23.47).
The Cairn Cross Country teams compete next on Wednesday, October 11 at home as they host a small on-campus meet.
