LOGAN TWP., NJ – Cairn Cross Country ran in their final regular season race on Saturday, competing in the Border Battle hosted by Rowan University.
Junior
Clarisse Hayden (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) put up the best performance of her career, crossing the finish line in 23:49.5, 6.3 seconds shy of the 6K program record. Hayden just missed the podium, placing fourth out of the field of 154 runners. Senior
AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mt. Desert Island) came thru next in 26:05.9 with another top-50 finish.

Morgan Steele (Bowie, MD / Estele Christian Academy) was the third Highlander across the finish, clocking in at 29:43.4. Junior
Clara Tylavsky (Des Moines, IA / Saydel) set a personal best, finishing in 29:47.4. Sophomores
Madelynne Davis (Philadelphia, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) and
Maszie Granz (Manchester, PA / Northeastern) were the final Cairn runners, both also setting career bests at 29:55.1 and 34:08.5, respectively.
The Highlanders had a 10
th place team finish out of a field of 24.
Cairn XC will compete next on November 1 at the United East Championship, hosted by Penn St. Brandywine.
