LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University men's volleyball team won their third-straight match with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19) sweep of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) adversary Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday afternoon in a rematch of last year's conference championship match. Prior to the match, Cairn celebrated its six seniors for their contributions to the program over the past four years,

Caleb Horning (Adamstown, PA / Cocalico),
Cameron Cronk (Quakertown, PA / Quakertown Community),
Shea Scott (Harleysville, PA / Souderton) and
Joshua Hoagland (Chiang Rai, Thailand / Chiang Rai International Christian School).

"They fought for every point, and their chemistry on the court proved to be our advantage. It was a great way to celebrate our seniors, and the hard work they've put in throughout these past four years here."
Saint Elizabeth (10-7, 2-2 CSAC) took an early 10-6 lead in set one, including back-to-back blocks on the first two points of the contest. Cairn (10-8, 3-1 CSAC) responded accordingly, going on a five-point rally, including three service aces by Hoagland. The rest of set one was evenly contested, and SEU held a 21-20 lead near the end of the frame. The Highlanders answered by scoring the next four points, and claimed a 25-22 first-set victory. Cairn jumped out of the gates in set two, via a 12-5 lead over the Eagles. The Highlanders got the advantage up to nine (20-11) at its largest point, and cruised to a 25-17 win. Cairn held a narrow 19-15 lead near the end of the third set, but utilized another rally, this time a four-point swing to put a stranglehold on the match.
Cairn was led offensively by Horning and junior
Joe Poirier (Nogyang, South Korea / Holden Christian Academy), each with a match-high 12 kills. Tea added a career-high eight kills in the win, while Scott handed out a match-high 34 assists. Moyer led the back row with a match-high 13 digs.
The Highlanders will be back on the court on Tuesday, April 4 when they welcome conference foe Pratt Institute to Langhorne in Cairn's final home match of the season at 7 p.m.
